Tools of the Dragon
The Tools of the Dragon,Druid and the Witch are similar to each other but different in various ways.The Tools of the Dragon are the Ritual Implements of the Druid Attained in the Crafts of the Touta of Stones(DragonCircles)or the Nemeton.They are the Tools that is used for survival in the Wood and Grove,as well in calling the Wizards or Dragons to the Four Regents.
In certain Cultures of the Druids,either Welsh,Irish,Scottish,French,even the Northern Druids,the Tools varied per the Traditions and Need for the Many Magickal Makings that was In cited at the Moons and the Festivals of Fire.
First was the Muince(Torc)usually of Gold or Bronze that was worn about the Neck as a Symbol of the Oath Taken and by the Universe Noticed and by the Goddess and Gods so Accepted.
Second was the Tunic with the Jerkins and Breeches,or a short length Robe with the Leg Drop at the knees with Hood and Braat(Cloak)usually made of a charcoal grey for the Attained Druid,a Seanachai(Storyteller)usually wore a Green Tunic,and an Uatis(Bard) wore a Blue or Maroon with a brooch brandish.
Third was the form of Glain that was wore about theNeck.This was a Rock Crystal,or a Fossilized Urchin or oftimes a Fossilized Bone or Petrified Piece of Wood.This Was wore about the Neck on a leather Thong braided with entwined Horsehair interweaved,and usually Acorns and Folaige was also leyed upon the Strand.
The Glain was Dedicated to Deity and was the Protection and Luck of the Druid and the Tribe He or She was from.
The Sword or Glaive(Blade of Light)was used to Invoke the Touta and Nemeton,as well as Banash that which was called in Ritual and Ceremony.The Glaive was the Badge of a High Druid,and the Officiating Druid or Druidess that presided over the Rites.Usually only one Glaive was used per any Gathering of Druids,and the Hand that Held it was the Spiritual Leader of the Tribes or Clans.
The Smaller Blade(Dirk.Sgian Dubh)was held by all the Gatherers and also used personally in Ritual and Magick.This is an extension of the Glaive,and works the same way,also works seperately from the Glaive too...it depended on the Law of the Druid with the Need of the Traditions.No form of Druidic Magick was ever worked without the Blade.
The Next is the Wand(slat) of Staff(an Lorg On)this was made from Ritually cut wood in the Season between Beltaine and MidSummer and was Taken from a tree with One swath of the Labrys(AXE) or the the Glaive.It was of a Wood known to be of Life and Magickal with roted meanings to the Druid or Druidess.Its was Anointed woth an oil of forms and was empowered in the Nemeton usually,and its purposes varies greatly,such as Sending Forth Energy Raised,Grounding and Centering,Personal Self Defense,A walking Aid in Rough Terrain.Some Traditions used BlackThorn or Hazel Branches,as like the Walking Sticks Today.
A Cup and /or Cauldron was used for the Offerings and Drink of the Clans and Tuneful Tribes,this was made usually of Silver with Nickel inlay,Or even a Wooden Square Cup.This was and Is the Vessel of the Power of Deity that Fills it with the Blessings of the Universe into the Mundane for the Betterment of the Tribe itself.The Cauldron(Coire)for Cooking and the Cup for Drinking.The Essential Fire and Water,for the fulfillment of the Clans.
Also the Great Plate,or the Wooden and/or Metal etched Platelet that signifies the Earth,Nature,Foundation,and Stability of the Druid on the Material Plane and the UnderWorld.In MostTraditions of the Druid,the Pentagram was known of but never used,even though later it was called the Druids Foot.A Knotwork Plate or Clay Engraved Circulet was the Object that was the means that held the Powers of Earth,both Light and Dark in Balance.So I will give you an Image of both that could be made and used.
Also a Sickle of Gold(plated)for Druids was used,Silver for Druidess's.Sun and Moon,Light andDark,the Mystery.Special Cords were weaved abd wore as Spiritual Ties to the Deities that the Druids were Sworn to and wore them about the Waist of the Tunic.SometimesSpecial Cords were worn for Magick usually about the Arm or sometimes Groin or Upper Leg.The Many Colors were meant for Magick and Ritual Symbolism,and wasnt Spoke of beyond the Druids Themselves.The Sickle was often Draped from a Cord or Chain that was Wrapped about the Waist as well.The Symbol of The Serpent Entwining and Biting its own Tail,was often imaged as the Cords or Chain was being placed on.
